About the Event
What is Debian?
Debian is a free operating system created by thousands of volunteers worldwide who work for a wide range of organizations. These volunteers often contribute from their own free time with the support of their employers. While many commercial companies support Debian, the project is self-contained and run by its community members. The Debian GNU/Linux operating system is a collection of free software packages. Currently, Debian is made up of more than 50000 packages. You can read more about Debian on the Debian website or on Wikipedia.
What is DebConf?
DebConf is an annual gathering of Debian contributors to work together on Debian. It is usually held in person, but due to the COVID-19 pandemic in 2020 and 2021, we held it online, and in 2022 the DebConf22 was held in Prizren, Kosovo. DebConf23 will be held in India in 2023 at Infopark Kochi in Kerala.
What is a MiniDebConf?
A MiniDebConf is similar to DebConf but more localized. These type of events can happen throughout the year. These are smaller Debian conferences, targeted towards specific communities of interest, and offers delegates an opportunity to network with other enthusiasts while immersing themselves in a specific topic or project.
